A registered office address service gives a UK limited company the official address it files at Companies House. Statutory mail, court papers and letters from HMRC are received there, and the company is told when they arrive. 465 staffed buildings in 173 UK towns and cities sell it — 465 listings, from £52 a month.
What Companies House accepts
- Since 4 March 2024 the address must be an "appropriate address": post delivered there must come to the attention of someone acting for the company, and delivery must be capable of being recorded. A Royal Mail PO Box does not qualify.
- The address must be in the same part of the UK as the company: England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
- It is public on the Companies House register — the usual reason founders do not use a home address.
- Each director also files a service address, a separate entry; the same building can usually provide it — see director service address.
- Rules in full: gov.uk — registered office address.
